At Datametrics Associate Limited, we stand with the global community to mark World Tuberculosis Day (March 24). This year’s theme, “๐ฌ๐ฒ๐! ๐ช๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐,” reminds us that defeating this ancient disease requires commitment, investment, and collective action.
Tuberculosis remains the world’s deadliest infectious disease, claiming 1.25 million lives in 2023 – more than COVID-19. Shockingly, 10.8 million people fell ill with TB last year, including 1.3 million children. While TB is preventable and curable, the rise of drug-resistant strains (MDR-TB) poses a grave threat, with only 40% of affected patients receiving treatment (WHO, 2025).
The disease thrives where poverty, malnutrition, and limited healthcare access intersect. People living with HIV are particularly vulnerable, being 16 times more likely to develop active TB. TB spreads through the air when infected people cough or sneeze (Cleveland Clinic 2025).
