Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

Datametrics conducted an endline evaluation of emergency WASH, Healthcare, and Gender Based Violence projects in Kodunga, Jere, MMC, and Mafa LGAs in Borno state. The evaluation elicited information from 190 caregivers, 24 community stakeholders, and 40 members of Women friendly spaces, from 10 project communities.
Forty four percent of the respondents have received information on GBV. The three most mentioned forms of GBV mentioned include rape (64.2%), sexual assault (38.4%) and forced marriage (44.7%). About 37.4% of respondents attributed poverty as the main cause of GBV, 20.5% mentioned insurgency, while 13.7% mentioned influence from peer group/friends. The evaluation has established the impact of the intervention in project communities.
