World day of social justice

𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙄𝙇𝙊), 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 453 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 214 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 $1.90 𝙖 𝙙𝙖𝙮 (𝙄𝙇𝙊, 2024).
The ILO’s Decent Work Agenda emphasizes that a just transition must be inclusive, integrating universal social protection, equitable access to education, and fair labor policies to reduce inequalities and promote sustainable development (ILO, 2025).
Gilbert F. Houngbo, ILO Director-General, stated: “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙝, 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙩𝙝, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙢𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙨.”
The theme for World Day of Social Justice 2025 celebrated annually in February is 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝘁 Datametrics Associates Limited, 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗷𝗮, 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. We emphasize the need to ensure that the shift toward low-carbon economies benefits everyone, particularly the most vulnerable.
 
We advocate for all to continue to reflect on the importance of inclusive policies and collective action by:
🎯Prioritizing decent work
🎯Retraining
🎯Job creation
🎯Universal social protection
🎯Gender equality
